Hello lovely friends! Thought I'd share a super quick hair tip. I put my hair up this way whenever I need a quick hairdo (which is most work mornings!). Literally, about 10 seconds quick hairdo! People ask me all the time how I get it to stay..... the trick is starting upside down!
Step 1: Start with hair that is pretty messy, definitely not blow-dryed, and maybe a bit tangly. (easy to manage for these early mornings.)
2. Gather all of your hair into a unbanded ponytail in the center of the back of your head.
3. Twist the hair like a unicorn horn
4. Loosely twist the hair into a bun. (this picture is only 3/4 of the way there. Make sure you go around until your hair is bunned)
5. Grab your stick (or in my case a Harry Potter wand look a like!)
6. Put the stick through the middle of the bun, horizontally.
7. Twist the stick clockwise, so the bottom is facing the ceiling.
8. Flipping the top of the stick outwards from your head, flip it rightside up, keeping the bottom of the stick touching your head.
9. Push through the bun and VOILA! Pull some loose strands down in the front to frame the face for an even more messy-bun look.
This bun should stay all day without falling out. If it feels too lose, go back and try it again with the initial horizontal insert a bit lower on the bun. (sounds a bit hilariously dirty :), but you get the idea.)
Enjoy!
